The metro has opened its doors in the capital of Saudi Arabia - Riyadh. It will be put into operation in stages. At the first stage, train traffic was launched on three lines: “blue“ line - from the Al-Ula business district in the center of the Saudi capital to the Al-Bata district, the "yellow" from King Khalid International Airport to downtown Riyadh and "purple" from the financial center of King Abdullah to the An Nasim area.
Three more subway lines will be opened in stages - from December 15, the "red" line and the "green", and from January 5, 2025. - “the orange".
In total, the metro in Riyadh will include 85 stations, the length of the tracks will be 176 km. 190 trains manufactured by German companies Siemens, Canadian Bombardier and French Alstom will run on six metro lines.
