Forbes, the international media company specializing in business, investment, technology and entrepreneurship, is opening its first private club in Spain - Forbes House Madrid, the Financial Times reported.
The launch of the establishment marks, according to the publication, “the first stage of the planned global distribution of the American media company's elite sites“.
Forbes House Madrid, aimed at executives and entrepreneurs from the private sector, is located in Madrid's financial district. The project is being implemented in conjunction with SpainMedia, publisher of Forbes España.
According to Forbes Media CEO Sherry Phillips, the private club in Madrid must prove its worth before the company decides to open establishments in other cities around the world. Forbes House Madrid is a seven-story building that houses a restaurant led by Michelin-starred chef Adolfo Santos, a rooftop bar and a wine cellar.
The company has already significantly diversified its business in the past few years, moving away from its traditional journalism background, Phillips said.
Forbes is committed to addressing the challenges of an increasingly challenging advertising revenue environment through branded content, marketing and sponsorships, as well as its popular wealth rankings and 30 Under 30 specials. The company has also expanded its business into areas such as e-commerce and real estate.
