The permit, which was issued in early December by the acting head of the Sofia Department of Architecture and Urban Planning, is for the construction of a 6-storey building in the yard of the "Blue Lion" restaurant on 3 Ivan Vazov Street, meters from the City Garden.
"The order of the chief architect is based on a statement that is false, and from the point of view of the Ecology Commission, this is a flaw in the issued administrative act," says Lorita Radeva, who was head of the Ecology Commission in the previous SOS. The members of the commission are against the development of the property.
"If the order has not yet entered into force, the administrative body has the right to review and withdraw it within one month. The other option is to send the order to court and withdraw it before the court. In both cases, a complaint must be filed by a person with a legal interest, which will make the complaint admissible. In this case, it seems to me that there will be no such complaint", said lawyer and expert at the Urban Environment Commission Boris Milchev, quoted by the "Sega" newspaper. He explained that there are still possibilities for reviewing the order: if "significant violations" are established in its issuance.
Boris Bonev from "Spasi Sofia" called on the chief architect to cancel his order because it refers to a non-existent decision in the municipal council.
