129 projects for energy efficiency of multi-family residential buildings in the coal regions of Stara Zagora, Pernik and Kyustendil have been approved. This is shown by the results of the completed assessment of the submitted project proposals for financing under the procedure "Support for sustainable energy renovation of multi-family residential buildings, including addressing energy poverty" under Priority 4 "Just Transition" of the "Development of Regions" Program 2021-2027. A total of 329 project proposals from the 3 regions were submitted to the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works for a total value of 455.4 million leva. The proposals received from 24 municipalities in the most affected coal regions exceed about 2 times the budget under the procedure - 196.4 million leva, provided by the Just Transition Fund and national co-financing.
With the provided European grants, 26 projects will be implemented in Kyustendil District. They will be financed free of charge with 31.8 million leva. In Pernik District, 38 units will be renovated with 32.9 million leva. In Stara Zagora District and the 10 municipalities related to the Marishki Basin: Nova Zagora, Yambol, Simeonovgrad, Harmanli, Topolovgrad, Dimitrovgrad, Haskovo, Elhovo, Sliven and Tundzha, 65 projects worth 127.8 million leva will be implemented. lv.
The projects include measures to increase the energy efficiency of multi-family residential buildings and reduce energy poverty in the areas most affected by the climate transition. After implementing the energy-saving measures, the buildings must achieve an energy consumption class of “B“ or higher, thus supporting the transition to climate neutrality in the three regions.
