The District Court in Montana sentenced M.D.I. (48) from the regional city to two years in prison, effectively the 39th sentence for him, the Court announced in Montana, BTA reported.
The sentence was pronounced for stealing money from a car in conditions of dangerous recidivism.
On November 11, 2024, M.D.I. broke into a car, from where he stole 1,430 leva and other valuables. After he was captured and detained, the prosecutor's office filed charges against him, and the victim of the theft filed a private lawsuit for the recovery of the stolen property.
In court, the defendant pleaded guilty and received a sentence 1/3 below the minimum for this crime.
The Court of Justice announced that so far M.D.I. has been convicted 38 times for crimes of a general nature - mostly thefts. The last sentence entered into force on April 24, 2025.
