Five patrol cars chased a driver for 100 km in Varna. The action took place shortly after midnight on Monday, Nova TV reported. The driver, who was driving a car after drinking alcohol, refused to stop for a check.
Due to the high speed and the danger to the driver's life, no emergency braking aids - spikes - were used. The pursuit ended in the area of the village of Yagnilo, where the pursued car crashed.
The check with a technical device showed 2.29 per mille of alcohol, and the driver and his passenger were visibly intoxicated. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case. The man is 33 years old from the village of Esenitsa and has a criminal record for a number of previous road violations.
