People are seeking assistance from the police with a wide variety of signals - from real problems to frankly curious cases. This is shown by the data of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Varna for the last few months, bTV reports.

The operational duty unit of the police in the city receives between 200 and 300 signals every day. However, a significant part of them are about situations that do not require the intervention of the law enforcement agencies. Among the real signals, there are also those that cause bewilderment. In October, a citizen filed a signal, insisting that the police come because his neighbor took a tray and had not returned it for the second week.

In another case, a man sought assistance from the police with a complaint that his wife was harassing him by sending him nude photos of herself. There have also been reports of children “breaking the rules” on playgrounds – for example, 10-year-olds playing on a playground intended for 7-year-olds.

Among the reports filed, there are also those in which, after inspection, it was found that no violation had been committed. A woman filed a report in the evening that there was someone in her chimney, but upon visiting the scene, the police found that the noise was caused by the wind.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs in Varna reminds that by law they are obliged to respond to every report. However, this often leads to the expenditure of resources on everyday and unimportant cases. Even minor disputes, such as the one about the stolen tray, require the intervention of a district inspector.

The police are calling on citizens to be more precise when reporting incidents to 112 or directly to the operational duty units, so that police intervention can be directed to real and urgent situations.
