Within one day - between the evening of January 24 and the morning of January 25, two murders were committed in Varna and the region. This was announced today at a briefing by the Varna District Prosecutor Krasimir Konov and the Director of the Varna Regional Department of Internal Affairs – Senior Commissioner Krasen Torimatsov. According to them, the two crimes are not connected, "Nova TV" specified.
„The Varna District Prosecutor's Office is monitoring two pre-trial proceedings for murders committed with particular cruelty and in a torturous manner for the victims“, said Prosecutor Konov. He confirmed that the perpetrators have been detained and have already been brought as defendants.
The first crime was committed in Varna. Konov said that a son killed his 62-year-old mother. The perpetrator is a 42-year-old man, who reportedly suffers from paranoid schizophrenia. “He is about to be admitted for psychiatric assessment in a specialized facility,“ the prosecutor specified. The murder was committed in the victim's home, in the area of the Second District Administration in Varna.
The second case was registered in a nursery located in the land between the villages of Kichevo and Osen. The victim is a 50-year-old man, and the accused is 36 years old. One was the landlord of the other. According to initial data, the murder was planned and organized in advance, and the body was carefully hidden.
„Procedural and investigative actions are currently being carried out, including a search of a hard-to-reach well about 60 meters deep, to find material evidence related to the crime“, added the director of the ODMVR Krasen Torimachov.
„There is no connection between the two acts. Different perpetrators, different victims, but both murders were committed with particular cruelty“, Torimachov emphasized. According to him, knives were used in both cases.
