Sofia City Prosecutor's Office (SGP) submitted an indictment to the Sofia City Court in a case initiated on 28.07.2021 for document fraud in particular large in size and representing a particularly severe case – crime under Art. 212, para. 5 of the Criminal Code.
P. Petrov was brought to court for the fact that in the period from 11.10.2019 to 23.03.2020 in the city of Sofia in the conditions of a continuing crime with two acts by using false private documents (eight invoices in German, which were given the appearance of being issued by a German commercial company, and a contract for the provision of financial means for safekeeping dated 19.10.2018 with parties D.L. and Y.Z., to which it was attached type, that it was signed by Y.Z. and is his specific written statement of will that he received from L. the sum of 650,000 euros for safekeeping), received foreign movable property without legal basis – 147 coins with a total value of BGN 106,763 and 1 gold bar weighing 1,000 grams, 23.88 carats, worth BGN 109,718, owned by Y.Z., as well as a sum of money in the amount of EUR 550,000, with BGN equivalent value BGN 1,085,485.65, property of Y.Z., Y.Z. and P.Z. - all property (coins, gold bullion and sum of money) with a total value of BGN 1,301,966.65, with the intention of misappropriating it, as the document fraud is of particularly large proportions and represents a particularly serious case.
The pre-trial proceedings against the accused Petrov have been completed in absentia, as far as his place of residence in the country is not known and after a thorough search, he has not been established.
For the crime under Art. 212, para. 5 of the Criminal Code provides for imprisonment from 10 to 20 years.
The other criminal proceedings, which are investigating whether Petrov has committed a crime, are at the stage of investigation, the SGP press center announced.
