The case against former policewoman Simona Radeva, accused of hiding Georgi Semerdzhiev after the severe accident on Blvd. “Black Peak” in July 2022, in which two young women died, NOVA reported.

After the accident, he managed to escape from the scene of the accident. The investigation later revealed that Simona Radeva, at the time a police officer in the Ministry of the Interior, helped Semerdzhiev go into hiding.

At the last hearing on November 19, Simona Radeva's mother told the court that her daughter saw the accident and stopped to help without having a clear idea of the circumstances. Today, the court will hear new witnesses and consider additional evidence.

The Court of Appeal is considering Marin Dimitrov's appeal to change his remand order. He is accused of participating in an organized criminal group and smuggling.

Dimitrov was arrested in April 2024. during an action by the National Security Agency and the Anti-Corruption Commission, directed against corrupt practices in the “Customs” Agency. He is accused together with his son Stefan Dimitrov, the former director of the “Mitnitsi“ Petya Bankova and the former Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Zhivko Kotsev. Charges include participation in an organized crime group, influence peddling and smuggling.

Another person believed to be the perpetrator of several phone scams has been arrested. According to the information, he is connected to a total of seven cases – one scam in Dobrich, two in Burgas and four in Varna.

Today in Dobrich, more information on the case is expected from representatives of the prosecutor's office, the Main Directorate “National Police” and the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the city.

Telephone fraud remains a serious problem, with the latest figures suggesting that the damage for 2024 already exceed BGN 5 million. Most often, the victims are elderly people who are manipulated through scenarios of injured loved ones or urgent medical needs.
