The police in Yambol have uncovered a serious crime - the murder of a 57-year-old man. The perpetrator is a 25-year-old woman who was detained and left in custody for 72 hours. This was announced by the spokesperson for the Yambol police, Tatyana Pavlova.
The man's body was found late on the evening of January 2 in the area of the former military unit "Cherven Bair" in the northern part of Yambol. It was discovered during the verification of an operational signal. The crime was committed the same day in the bunker located in this area, the District Prosecutor's Office indicated - Yambol.
The murdered man is from Burgas and led a vagrant lifestyle. The people he had contacts with in Yambol and the places he visited were checked. As a result, the perpetrator was found - a 25-year-old woman from Yambol, who had maintained a close relationship with him. She was detained in Nova Zagora, where she tried to hide, the Yambol Regional Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs added.
The woman confessed to the police and described the mechanism of committing the crime.
During the investigation, it was established that the murder was committed with a knife, which was used to stab the victim in the neck, the prosecutor's office announced. The Yambol District Prosecutor's Office is about to submit a request to the court for a preventive measure of "detention in custody" regarding the accused.
