After the death of a 36-year-old man from Varna, tension arose last night in the city, BNT reported. People gathered and protested in the streets, and the reason was the videos that appeared on social networks.
It is alleged that the videos show how 36-year-old Yavor Georgiev, who sought help from the police, is beaten by law enforcement officers. However, it has not been confirmed at this time whether the man in the videos is Georgiev.
The death of Yavor Georgiev became clear on Monday, and it was initially reported that he died in the Varna psychiatric hospital. According to the information, on the night of Saturday, June 7, Georgiev himself called 112 to seek help. He said he was at a gas station in Varna, his mother had been kidnapped, and someone had cut off the electricity in his apartment building. Then he called his mother.
According to the authorities, the police who went to the scene found Yavor naked to the waist, without personal documents. He started to riot, which is why the police took him to the psychiatric hospital, where he died.
However, Yavor Georgiev's relatives believe that the fatal outcome was due to aggression against him. The autopsy shows that there is no evidence of physical violence. Yesterday, relatives and friends of Yavor Georgiev gathered in front of the police and the prosecutor's office in Varna to seek answers.
