The creator of the group " Time Machine" is facing a criminal case and two years in prison, TASS reported. Andrey Makarevich's offense was a violation of the rules for foreign agent activity, the law enforcement authorities announced.
"Makarevich is facing a criminal case under Art. 330.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (concealment of obligations provided for by the legislation of the Russian Federation for foreign agents). This matter is under consideration. If a criminal case is opened, Makarevich could be imprisoned for up to two years”, the agency source said.
According to him, Makarevich's communication with the pranksters Vovan (Vladimir Kuznetsov) and Lexus (Alexei Stolyarov), who called him on behalf of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, will not be ignored. During the conversation, the musician says that he supports the Ukrainian armed forces in the conflict with Russia and even tries to justify the "ideologist of Ukrainian nationalists" Stepan Bandera. “After such statements, it is planned to carry out an extremism check against the musician,”, added a representative of the law enforcement authorities.
The lawyer of Makarevich, Alexander Aldaev, refused to answer the questions of TASS regarding the possible criminal case against the musician.
In September 2022, the Department of Justice added Makarevich to the foreign agent registry. In the summer of 2023, he was fined 50 thousand rubles for refusing to tag a foreign agent in his social networks. Earlier on Monday, the court again found Makarevich guilty of a similar administrative offense and fined him 30,000 rubles. The reason for drawing up the administrative protocol was several publications by the musician on the VK social network, in which, according to Roskomnadzor, he did not indicate that they were created by a foreign agent.
Creator of the group "Time Machine" currently lives in Israel. At various times he gave interviews in which he spoke negatively about the "special military operation" and openly supports anti-Russian statements, adds TASS.
