The once scandalous Russian duo "Tatu" recently reunited, and for this purpose the two performers - Yulia Volkova and Lena Katina - renounced the LGBT movement declared extremist and banned in Russia.
The singers have declared that they will no longer kiss, hug and keep a distance on stage. Thus, the age limit for their concerts is „10+“. In case of non-compliance with the new rules, the performers must pay a fine.
The return of the duo was received controversially in Russia.
Music critic Sergei Sosedov said that there was no point in the group's return, the Public News Service reported.
According to the source, the time of the popular duo has long passed, so the reunion of Volkova and Katina now would be inappropriate. The critic emphasized that the duo's new songs would not be listened to, and the old hits in their performance would sound vulgar.
„The concept of „Tatu“ was for two young girls to sing unconventional songs and shake up the youth. What „Tatu“, so they are now „tatushkas“, excuse me? They are fifty years old, what kind of repertoire can they have?“, said Sosedov.
