Russian President Vladimir Putin has a positive attitude towards good ethno music, his press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
“The President likes ethno music, good ethno music“, said the "voice" of the Kremlin.
On November 5, the "Guild of Interethnic Journalism“ presented Putin with a record with the best songs in the languages of the peoples of Russia. It includes a song by the Kalmyk ethno-electropunk band HAGRIN called “Polin“.
“I don't know if he listened to the record, but I doubt he had time“, Peskov added.
As Putin himself has stated before, he finds any music enjoyable if it is talented, but for example he doesn't like heavy metal – he is “too heavy”.
By his own admission, the president listens to music every day, preferring classical music - Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Liszt, Mozart, Chopin and Schubert.
He is also addicted to contemporary popular music, including the band Lube. He also likes some songs by the Swedish group ABBA.
Putin not only listens to music, but also plays the piano - at an amateur level, but enough to demonstrate his skills from time to time.
