bTV will not film "The Bachelor" in the future, writes "Weekend", quoted by varna24.bg. The show proved to be too expensive for television after the ban on gambling ads caused revenue to plummet.
Candidates looking for love on television will in the future be left with only the submitted casting documents, well-informed sources of the weekly claim. The license for "The Bachelor" to Warner Bros., which owns the rights to the show, proved too expensive amid declining advertising revenue.
Although the reality show in general enjoys a good rating, several millions go into its preparation, which must be killed with advertisements. This spring, however, the National Assembly banned gambling advertising, which was a major source of money on television.
The result was immediately felt in the empty coffers. Budget cuts had to be made and bosses cut the most expensive pen – "The Bachelor". The other thing that has influenced this decision is the fact that the photos are months before the broadcast, the winners are clear very early on, and until now, information about who they are has always been leaked at the start of the show. Apparently there are moles in the team who are reporting this supposedly secret information to certain media outlets. The intrigue disappears at the very beginning, and this year it was felt in the rating, adds the publication.
The television has not officially announced that they will not be filming "The Bachelor" in the future. At the moment, there is even a recruitment of candidates for participation in a new season. There may be a new season, but it is not clear when. About "The Farm" casting has also been announced, but the reality show will not be filmed this year.
About "Bulgaria is looking for talent" and castings are periodically announced with massive advertisements, but the last season aired so far is from 2022 and, at least for now, no next edition is planned. Most likely, the same fate will follow the casting for the fourth season of "The Bachelor".
It will serve to collect a database of possible new participants. However, this data will only be used if a sufficiently reliable new source of income is found that can cover the losses from prohibited gambling advertising. So, at least for now, Alek Mladenov, who escaped from "The Bachelor" not with the girl, but with the mother, to remain the last main character of the reality show in our country, ends "Weekend".
