In the United States, two fishermen set two new North Carolina state records in one day, the Coastal Review reported.

Both achievements, now officially recognized, were established on May 3. First, Christopher Heich from South Carolina caught a 10.4 kilogram yellowmouth grouper in the neighboring state. This result is the first recorded in North Carolina. At the same time, the world record for catching a yellowmouth grouper is 11.2 kilograms.

Later that day, luck smiled on Joshua Pendleton of Southport. The man grabbed an ordinary grenade weighing three kilograms. The previous record holder was caught in North Carolina in 2023 and weighed just over two kilograms.
