In Shropshire, UK, man uses metal detector to find Rolex watch , swallowed by a cow 50 years ago, and returned it to its owner, reports the Shropshire Star.

James Steele told the publication that he bought the watch in 1950 for his 21st birthday. At the time it was worth 100 pounds sterling, which is equivalent to 4.5 thousand pounds sterling today. After a while, however, Steele lost his expensive purchase. The man assumed that while the cows were grazing, the strap of the watch broke and he fell into the grass, from where a cow picked him up and swallowed him.

„I was devastated, but I saved up again and bought another one,”, Steele said.

50 years later, treasure hunter Liam King gets permission from Steele's son to explore the cow farm with a metal detector. King was hoping to find old coins, but unexpectedly came across a Rolex watch. It was green from time spent in grass and dirt, but not rusty. King handed over the find to its real owner, 95-year-old James Steele.

The farmer has no intention of repairing the clock, but will keep it as a keepsake. He stressed that he was glad to see the return of the watch.
