When it comes to royalty, some of the most interesting things aren't about the public their activity, and with what they are as people and how they live. For example, what are their favorite foods, do they avoid others, and does someone else always cook their dinner.

These questions regarding King Charles and Camilla are answered first-hand by Tom Parker Bowles. Tom, 49, is Camilla's son from her first marriage to Andrew Parker Bowles and is a successful cookbook author.

In his latest Cooking and the Crown: Royal Recipes from Queen Victoria to King Charles III ("Cooking and the Crown: Royal Recipes from Queen Victoria to King Charles III"), he details the diet of his mother and stepfather .

"Simple, healthy and purposefully seasonal" - this is how Charles and Camilla's diet is defined in a few words. Their food is prepared by royal chef Mark Flanagan, who travels with them to provide their meals.

Parker Bowles clarifies that Charles looks to stick to things he talks about publicly like eating seasonally and sourcing much of the produce from his own farms. He consumes seasonal fruits and vegetables, as well as game, beef and lamb.

"Nothing is thrown from King Charles's table," writes Tom. Instead, the king skips lunch in favor of afternoon tea at 5, which is accompanied by waffles, biscuits, macarons, petitfours, scones, as well as poached eggs on toast, prawns and salmon or chicken sandwiches.

As for his mother, Tom Parker Bowles specifies that Camilla eats a light lunch such as soup or some smoked salmon. Family dinners are far from the pomp of official gala dinners, for which the menu is "still written in French", writes lifestyle.bg cited by FOCUS.
