American YouTuber and rapper DDG announced his breakup with the star of "The Little Mermaid" Halle Bailey less than a year after the birth of their son Halo, dariknews.bg reported.
The rapper announced the news on October 3, 2024, posting a lengthy statement on an Instagram story.
DDG began his statement by addressing his "friends and supporters". He stated that he and Bailey decided to end their relationship "after much thought and heart-to-heart talks".
"This decision was not easy, but we believe it is the best way forward for both of us. I cherish the time we spent together and the love we shared," DDG continued. "Despite the changes in our relationship, our love for each other remains deep and true. We are still best friends and adore each other."
DDG ended their statement by saying that the two plan to "focus on their individual journeys" while actively working together as good parents. "We cherish the relationship we built and the beautiful moments we shared. As we manage this transition, we ask for your understanding and support," he added.
Bailey has yet to publicly comment on the split.
Rumors of Halle Bailey and DDG's relationship dated back to January 2022 after they were photographed at a concert together. It wasn't until March 2022 that DDG confirmed their relationship on Instagram with a post on Hailey's birthday in which he called her "the most beautiful and sweetest". A few months later, in June, the two made their red carpet debut at the BET Awards.
Since then, DDG and Bailey have kept their relationship mostly private, aside from their TikTok videos and red carpet appearances. The twosome welcomed their first child, Halo, in late 2023. Earlier this summer, DDG and Bailey showed off the baby's face for the first time at the Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda in Sardinia, Italy.
