Isak Andric, the founder of Spanish fashion house Mango, has died after a tragic mountain hiking accident, the company said, Reuters reported, quoted by BNR.
The 71-year-old billionaire reportedly fell from a 150-meter cliff while hiking with his family on the Montserrat mountain, which is near Barcelona.
Born in Istanbul, Andric and his family moved to Spain in the 1960s.
The Mango fashion house was founded under his leadership in 1984 in Barcelona, which helped grow the fashion brand into a global chain operating in more than 100 countries.
"Isak was an example for all of us. "He dedicated his life to Mango, leaving an indelible mark thanks to his strategic vision, his inspiring leadership and his unwavering commitment to the values that he himself instilled in our company," said a statement from Tony Ruiz, CEO of Mango.
According to Forbes magazine, Isak Andic's fortune is estimated at $4.5 billion.
