An Austrian has won a record amount of 250 million euros in the “EuroMillions“ lottery, reports APA agency, quoted by BTA.
This is the largest prize in the history of the lottery, surpassing the previous record of 240 million euros, which was also won by an Austrian citizen in December 2023.
The lucky person, who managed to match all seven numbers in last night's draw, purchased his ticket for 10 euros. Lottery organizers have confirmed that the huge jackpot has been won by an Austrian player, who will receive the largest payout in the game's history.
This is not the first major success for Austrians in the “EuroMillions“. In August 2023, a group of 38 Austrians who played with a common ticket won a jackpot of €72 million.
Austrian players have won the “EuroMillions“ jackpot 19 times to date, further underlining the country's strong position in lottery games in Europe.
