Two men in the Japanese city of Kamikatsu rushed to help a disabled teenager and drowned in the Katsura River, Japan Today reported.
The incident occurred during a camping event: it was organized for children with disabilities. As police found out, a 42-year-old employee of a specialized institution and his 18-year-old student saw how the child began to drown at around 2:00 p.m. local time.
The two rushed to help the teenager, but were unable to cope with the strong current and drowned. Police and firefighters arrived at the scene of the incident, the employee and the graduate of the institution were found without signs of life and their deaths were confirmed in the hospital.
The disabled teenager was saved, the publication writes.
