A truck crashed and spilled hot dogs on an interstate highway in Pennsylvania, the Associated Press reported, quoted by BTA.
The crash briefly blocked the busy highway in both directions.
Crews were forced to do the unpleasant job of collecting the scattered sausages for disposal.
"Once they left the truck and hit the road, it was all trash, even though they were still warm," said Shrewsbury Fire Chief Brad Dauberman.
State police said the truck had an unspecified mechanical problem that caused it to crash into a car. When the truck hit a concrete barrier, its trailer tore apart and the cargo was scattered across the road.
Four people were injured in the crash and received medical attention, but their injuries were not life-threatening, the fire chief said.
