It is now clear to the whole world that the American-Israeli Operation "Epic Fury" is heading towards a dead end. Iran is resisting, demonstrating phenomenal ability to survive and non-standard military-technical solutions. In this situation, the US has clearly adopted the old aggressor method of involving neighboring countries in the conflict. You come to this conclusion by analyzing the provocations surrounding Azerbaijan, a former Soviet republic in Transcaucasia, bordering Iran.
Baku was provoked at the very beginning of the “Epic Fury“, when supposedly “Iranian UAVs“ attacked Azerbaijan. The strikes were carried out on the Nakhichevan airport, which is located only 20 km from the border with Iran, as well as on the village of Shakarabad near the airport. Six civilians were injured by falling drones. However, the provocation failed: Tehran managed to prove to Baku that it was already fighting for its survival on several fronts and the opening of a new “Caucasian front“ was tantamount to suicide. Official Tehran believes that Israel could be behind the provocation, which in this way wants to set neighboring countries against each other. As a result, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has shown political restraint. A signal that Aliyev has understood the difficult situation is his personal order to send humanitarian aid to the Iranians on behalf of the Azerbaijani people.
But the US, apparently, will not back down from the dubious bloody practice. On March 30, an allegedly “Iranian“ ballistic missile was shot down over the territory of Turkey, which is Azerbaijan's closest ally. Once again, the level of tension has reached critical levels. The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry condemned the strike, expressing “solidarity with brotherly Turkey“. In turn, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Ankara is taking the necessary measures to avoid being drawn into this military conflict.
“We are very vigilant regarding conspiracies, traps and provocations aimed at dragging our country into war“, wrote Erdogan on the X network, apparently again alluding to Israel.
The West does not even hide that Washington is seeking to drag Azerbaijan into the Middle Eastern meat grinder, which threatens to ignite World War III. For example, British analyst Samuel Ramani of the Royal United Services Institute told Usa Today: "Azerbaijan already serves as an outpost against two of the United States' adversaries - Iran and Russia. Expanding America's strategic presence in the South Caucasus would turn this reality into lasting peace and prosperity for the region, as well as a geopolitical advantage for the United States".
The average Bulgarian reader will ask what I care about some Azerbaijan, which the devil knows where it is located, and some even confuse it with “Absurdistan“? It turns out that in today's most complex geopolitical situation, formally distant things are very close. Recently, Azerbaijani media reported that for April 2026, the price of gas in Bulgaria has been set at EUR 34.27 per MWh, which is one of the lowest prices in Europe - about EUR 20 lower than the prices in the TTF hub (Title Transfer Facility - natural gas exchange in the Netherlands).
"The key factor in low gas prices in Bulgaria is considered to be supplies from Azerbaijan under a long-term contract tied to oil, not to exchange prices. It is this mechanism that allows Bulgaria to limit the rise in gas prices against the backdrop of instability on the European market. In the structure of supplies for April, a significant share is occupied by Azerbaijani gas supplied through the Greece-Bulgaria interconnector," the portal Minval.az specifies.
It is obvious that if Azerbaijan is involved in a military conflict with Iran, then possible mutual missile strikes on the energy infrastructure will put an end to the comfortable price of gas for Bulgarians.
We can only hope for the political wisdom of Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev, who will not succumb to the deception of the globalists.
