Peevski VS Radev - 1
FAKTI.BG publishes opinions with a wide range of perspectives to encourage constructive debates.

The tension between Radev and Peevski is not just another scandal . This is an iconic battle! Radev's power ambitions and the unregulated financial resources he has accumulated have been openly discussed in recent years.

This is what Snezhana Taseva writes in her analysis.

Radev is the first president who allowed himself to abuse the institution of official power provided for in the Constitution. From an official cabinet, which must first of all organize and conduct fair and transparent elections, Radev turned official power into

personal and uncontrolled ambition

During the greater period of the political crisis, he actually ruled. His offices were his personal teams of people who share Putin's political views and are personally loyal to R. Radev.

The same man repeatedly received all the power in the state and was tempted to offer himself as the official ruler. Appointed ministers to push his line / i.e. that of Putin/. He let his speakers convince the public that it is necessary to make Bulgaria a presidential republic.

It was clear that the “republic” Radev's will be like Putin's, not like the one in the European world. Radev abused his power, which certainly corresponded to his political ambitions and views to serve the pro-Russian line and be critical of the West.

Radev was protected by public opinion, by the conjuncture of the crisis and above all by politicians who wanted to do “ala-bala“ with him, but also he with them. These factors protected Radev from the prosecution's investigation, which had caught him abusing the influence of the people in his office. It was clear that Radev was amassing influence, resources and assets from the crisis. He became a powerful figure that no politician dared to confront directly.

Before Peevski's campaign against Radev's abuses and criticism of him were only along geo-political lines. It was only informally rumored how much resources he had secured to create a party and intervene in

Bulgarian political life according to Putin's example

And while others squatted in the squares and prayed to him, Peevski chose another path – went up in arms against the Russian Governor General and his sinister scenario with his co-conspirators Dogan, the DS team, etc. rascals.

Is there no other game – is it possible that the unloved Peevski has joined hands with Zapad? And if he exposes the behind-the-scenes games of the Russian Radev. There are

at least two reasons for such a breakthrough:

1. Geopolitically, Radev is compromised as a Putin-sympathetic politician, and Peevski insistently displays a Euro-Atlantic policy related to the consolidated support of the civilized world for Ukraine. The reality is like that – while Radev was sabotaging NATO and aid to Ukraine, Peevski as the leader of the DPS from the parliament gave support and voted for aid.

2. The accusations of corruption against Peevski at the beginning of the political crisis legitimized the liberals and Radev in front of the Western world. But if abuses of Radev's power are revealed, he and all the politicians promoted by him will be compromised. The West supported Radev as a NATO general and fighter against corruption.

Obviously Peevski is determined to prove that both are wrong! The West supported Radev as a NATO general and anti-corruption fighter. The hybrid development of his image aimed precisely at this delusion for the public and to some extent for our allies in the EU and NATO. He also needed right-wing votes to become president, so they promoted him as a NATO member, an American man, when in fact he was a Russian lobbyist for weapons, planes and politics. The deception about his allies was necessary to enter Europe, as a Trojan horse of the Kremlin and

to advocate for Putin

at the level of European forums. These myths have already collapsed, but Radev's image remains, as an alternative to parliamentarism.

If serious facts about abuses in Radev's administration are presented, his image as a future party leader will be compromised. Therefore, Peevski is increasingly becoming a real danger for Radev, but such battles are useful for clarifying the truth in a political system clogged with crises.
