Arda defeated Slavia 2:1 in a match of the 28th round of the First League. Nikolay Kirov achieved his first victory in his second period in Kardzhali as a host and only his second since his return to the Rhodopes.
The hosts hit hard early on, scoring twice in the space of two minutes. Dejan Lozev crossed in the 10th minute to Chinozo Offor, and the Nigerian signing's shot hit the crossbar. With the addition, Boris Tyutyukov made no mistake to find the result. Minutes later, Arda doubled his lead, punishing a mistake in the delivery of the ball. Stanislav Ivanov of the national team received a pass from Lachezar Kotev, after which he overtook a defender of the guests and dropped the ball under the dive of the goalkeeper Svetoslav Vutsov.
Slavia responded with a powerful cannonball shot by Galin Ivanov, and goalkeeper Gospodinov struggled to take a corner kick. However, in the 35th minute, the people of Sofia returned a goal through Kristian Stoyanov. The youth national team scored after a breakthrough and attack from the right by Ertan Tombak, who was brought out by Galin Ivanov. For Stoyanov, this is also the first goal with the Slavia team in an official match.
The first opportunity of the second half was for the hosts, coming from a combination of Stanislav Ivanov and Borislav Tsonev. The midfielder attempted a shot, which, however, bounced off Martin Georgiev.
In the 76th minute, twice the reserve Quentin Seedorf could have equalized for Slavia. First, Tombak broke through and crossed, Roberto Raichev cleverly missed and Seedolf scored. The goalkeeper Gospodinov, however, took a corner kick. In the subsequent performance, the Dutch defender again shot, jumping highest, but this time the ball went over the crossbar. In the last 10-15 minutes, the tempo surprisingly remained high, which speaks well enough for the work of the coaches. Both Arda and Slavia did not stop attacking, looking for new goals.
