Nationalist Alen Hubulov lost the fight for an Olympic quota at the European Olympic wrestling qualifiers in Baku (Azerbaijan). In the semi-finals of the 125-kilogram freestyle, the Ossetian with a Bulgarian passport lost 0:7 to Giorgi Meshvidashvili, born in Georgia, but competing for Azerbaijan, reports BTA.
Thus, for the moment, Bulgaria remains with two quotas, won by Semen Novikov (87) in the classics and Bilyana Dudova (62) in the women's.
The last qualification is coming up in the Turkish city of Istanbul in May, where the top three in the category will get Olympic quotas, and an additional fight between the two bronze medalists will determine the winner of the visa.
