Stamen Belchev has been released from the coaching post of CSKA-Sofia, conveyed FOCUS.
The specialist took it after the failure of the "red“ in the playoff for a spot in the Conference League qualifiers.
At the National Stadium "Vasil Levski” CSKA-Sofia lost to CSKA 1948 with 0:2 in a direct match for a place in Europe.
After the match, Belchev resigned, and the club confirmed a little later about the separation with the specialist.
CSKA issued a statement stating that there will be serious changes in the club.
"We are sending the most shameful season. We missed opportunities, made mistakes and failed to achieve any of the goals we set. The mistakes are in us, we are aware of them and we work hard to clean them up. From now on, cardinal changes are coming in the club and the team.
As a first solution – Stamen Belchev and the entire coaching staff consisting of Anatoli Nankov, Stoyan Kolev, Hristiyan Hristov and Kiril Dinchev will no longer be at the head of the team. We understand and appreciate that these people took over the team at an extremely difficult time, but CSKA needs a change.
The new coach and his staff will be introduced as soon as possible.
At the end of the season, we will part with a large part of the footballers with expiring contracts, and we will also seriously revise some of the existing contracts of some players. You will receive an official list of those we are parting with within a few days. From now on, the CSKA shirt will be worn only by people who realize whose emblem they are defending and for which institution they are fighting.
There will also be restructuring at the management level. The announcement of new faces and the presentation of the entire long-term strategy for the development of the club is to come. During the last month, we have been working tirelessly on attracting new, competent people, footballers with passion and qualities and reorganizing the processes at CSKA.
On June 10, a press conference will be organized where we will announce all the upcoming changes in detail.

However, we categorically state that we do not tolerate the invasion of the crowd on the pitch and the excesses that have been reached today. All this can have severe consequences for the club and the team and deprive us all of experiencing together the brighter future that we we fight We have always been grateful for the unreserved support, passion, original choreography and love, but we cannot turn a blind eye to behavior that tarnishes the club's name in the long term. Despite the negative experiences that hurt us all, we believe that the CSKA audience should be an example and be led by the "army“ values".
