The American Sebastian Korda will be Grigor Dimitrov's opponent in the second round of the grass tournament at the "Queens Club" in London, BNR reported.
At the start of the competition, the 23rd in the world ranking, Korda defeated 7:5, 7:6(5) the one place ahead of him in the world ranking, Karen Khachanov from Russia.
Korda played a very solid match, recording 11 aces, 30 winners and only five unforced errors.
Khachanov, who is the Olympic runner-up from Tokyo, also played at a high level, but the only real opportunity before him was at 5:4 points in the tiebreak of the second set, when, however, he allowed himself to lose both his serves.
So far Grigor Dimitrov, who is number 3 in the scheme, and Sebastian Korda have played each other twice, exchanging one win each. However, both of their matches are on hard surfaces.
A more serious surprise occurred in the remaining meetings at the "Queen's Club", completed so far. The Italian Lorenzo Musetti made an impressive turnaround and won 1:6, 6:4, 6:2 number 2 in the scheme Alex de Minor from Australia.
The fourth in the scheme, Taylor Fritz, had no problems. The American knocked out the Japanese Taro Daniel after 6:3, 6:3, but in the second round a treacherous obstacle awaits him in the face of the former finalist of "Wimbledon" Milos Raonic from Canada.
