Nottingham Forest recorded a 2-1 victory over Aston Villa at home in a match from the 16th round of the Premier League. In this way, the players led by Nuno Espirito Santo displaced Manchester City from fourth place in the provisional standings. Forest are only two points behind Arsenal, reports BTA.
In the first half, the two teams created almost no interesting moments in front of either goal. In the 60th minute, Emiliano Marines saved Aston Villa after deflecting a shot from Dominguez from close range. Shortly after, the guests struck their own blow after John Duran headed past Sels.
In the 81st minute, Chris Wood still sent the ball into Martinez's goal, but after reviewing the situation with VAR, Elanga was awarded a thin offside. Aston Villa's lead remained. Six minutes later Forest equalised through Nikola Milenkovic. The Serbian international headed home Gibbs-White's cross from close range.
In the third minute of added time, the home side made a complete turnaround when Anderson crossed into the penalty area, where Elanga headed in from close range for the final 2-1.
