The former member of the board of Spartak (Varna) Sergey Petrov contacted sportal.bg to clarify the tension that arose after the match of the “Falcons” with CSKA - Sofia for the Sesame Cup of Bulgaria.
After the match, Petrov was on the field and demanded an account from the head coach of the “Reds” Alexander Tomas, by reaching out and hitting one of the officials of the capital team.
Now Petrov apologizes for his actions, admitting that he will leave his job at the club. However, he explicitly emphasizes that he did wrong, but “he is not a bully”.
Here is what Sergey Petrov writes:
Hello,
In connection with a number of media publications regarding the tension after the cup match between Spartak and CSKA:
The reason why I was on the track is that I have certain responsibilities to the club, related to the organizational part of the matches. In this regard, I would like to share that I intend to ask to be released from this responsibility because of my actions and my involvement in unnecessary arguments. I do not want my actions to tarnish the name of the club.
However, I would like to note that there was no physical contact specifically with Alexander Tomasz, despite the loud headlines in some publications. There was no intention of such. There was a heated dialogue between us and all this is visible in the footage. There was a fight with another person. I also find this unacceptable and is one of the main reasons for my decision.
I don't want to justify myself, but just admit that I was wrong - I was led astray by my emotions in a moment of affect, because of the overall situation around the club, as well as the tense match that we lost and in which there were several controversial situations.
I also note that I am not a “kicker” and I have no ambitions or claims to be one. Regarding the invitations made to me - I am not the person for such things, as I have already said, I am not a “kicker”.
I apologize to everyone who is disappointed and offended by my actions in any way. Everyone has probably made a mistake at least once in their life under the influence of emotion.
In this regard, I apologize to the blue-white community. Spartak Varna is a club that I love and is an important part of my life, but sometimes a person's actions do more harm than good. In my case, that's exactly what happened. There is indeed an exaggeration of the situation, but that does not justify my actions.
I admit my mistake and withdraw. I think that's the right way to approach it.
I wish everyone happy holidays!
