Four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel has confirmed that he is in talks with Helmut Marko about a possible return to “Red Bull“, BTA reported.
“This topic has been raised a lot in the media recently. I will say this: Helmut and I communicate very well and we have really discussed this possibility. These are not detailed negotiations yet, but rather thinking about what role I could take on. Let's see how this can be implemented.
He cannot simply be “replaced“. Helmut has been a key part of all the team's successes since 2005. Red Bull may not even be looking for a direct successor. Marko has spoken about a possible departure more than once, but for now he is still involved in the work“, Vettel said, quoted by crash.net.
Vettel, who ends his racing career in 2022, won two world championships with Red Bull (2010 and 2013) and his return to the team as a mentor could strengthen the development program for young talents such as Yuki Tsunoda and Liam Lawson.
