The captain of the Levski men's basketball team, Assen Velikov, announced with an emotional post on his personal profile on one of the social networks that he is parting ways with the "Blues", FOCUS reported.
Here's what Velikov wrote.
Goodbye does not mean the end…
In life, we often have to part ways – with beloved people, places or memories that have been a part of us. After many years together, the moment has come when my path and that of Basketball Club Levski take different directions.
Thank you for the opportunity, time and the great honor of wearing the beloved "L" on my chest for so long. These were some of the happiest and most significant years in my basketball career.
Thank you to everyone with whom we were shoulder to shoulder over the years – together we went through victories, losses, difficult moments and invaluable lessons. This time built me up not only as a player, but also as a person.
Special thanks to the blue fans – those who were always there for us. Even though many of you were not often present in the hall, I personally always felt your support. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for it!
Levski will always remain a part of me. Thank you for everything.
39-year-old Velikov is ending the second period of his career in Levski. He was a player of the “blue“ between 2007 and 2011, as well as from 2018 until now.
He also played for Lukoil Academic, Rilski Sportist and Cherno More.
