Making fun of the American habit of filling the interior of cars with cup holders is bad manners, but it is a fact. However, American car brands are not offended and continue to work hard in this direction.
Ford engineers, for example, have developed a power-sliding center console that can be used by both passengers and pets, specifically dogs.
The trick is that the cup holder on such a center console includes... a water bowl holder. The idea is that during a long journey the dog may also ask for some water. But that's not all.
The surveillance system monitors which seats in the passenger compartment are occupied and where exactly the four-legged one is. The built-in bowl includes a sensor to determine the volume of water. A controller that moves the console is intended not to make too sudden movements so as not to spill water.
We can only wait for the debut of the most dog-friendly Ford yet. Dog lovers are probably already lining up...
