Google released Android 15 earlier this month, but only for developers – the new version of the software platform is not yet available to users. Now it has become known that owners of Google Pixel smartphones will be able to update their devices from October 15.
Google usually releases updates on Mondays, but October 14 is Columbus Day in the United States, so developers decided to delay the release of Android 15 until the day after the holiday. It is possible that the Android 15 release date will be delayed if some serious flaws are found that need to be fixed.
If everything goes according to plan, then owners of Google branded smartphones will be able to install Android 15 on October 15. The software platform is compatible with Pixel 6 and newer smartphones. For the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones, Android 15 will be the last major update to the software platform.
It is not yet known when Android 15 will start appearing on smartphones from other manufacturers. This will likely depend on how quickly manufacturers are willing to roll out the new version of the operating system to compatible devices.
