The armed forces formed by the Yemeni Houthi rebel movement “Ansar Allah“ carried out drone strikes on targets in Israel, including the Ramon airport near the city of Eilat and a military site in the Negev desert, according to the rebels' military spokesman Yahya Sariya, TASS reported.

“The Yemeni armed forces conducted a successful operation using four drones. Three of them were aimed at Ramon airport in the Umm al-Rashrash area (the Arabic name for Eilat), the fourth at a military target in the Negev region, said Sariya, whose address was broadcast by the rebel-controlled Al-Masirah TV channel.

According to the Ansar Allah spokesman, "the operation successfully achieved its objectives."

After the escalation of the Gaza conflict in 2023, the Houthis warned that they would shell Israeli territory and prevent Israeli-linked ships from passing through the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. The attacks stopped after a ceasefire was imposed in the Palestinian enclave in mid-January, but after the truce collapsed in early March, the rebels announced they had resumed attacks on Israeli ships in the Red Sea and have since renewed their attempts to attack targets in the Jewish state.

Israel responded with repeated strikes on Houthi infrastructure, including Sanaa airport and Red Sea ports.
