Orban criticizes Sweden for "hostile behavior towards Hungary - 1

Viktor Orban, Prime Minister of Hungary, has severely criticized the Swedish government, accusing it of repeatedly acting against Hungary's national interests. In a post on the social network X, Orban listed seven specific cases, including the exclusion of Hungarian universities from the "Erasmus" and "Horizon" programs, as well as pressure for sanctions and migration policies, BTA reports.

“A brief reminder“, Orban begins, emphasizing that Sweden voted to freeze more than half of EU funds and supported actions against Hungarian universities.

He also recalled the pressure to activate Article 7, which provides for the EU's most severe sanctions for countries violating the union's laws and values, as well as the Swedish Minister for European Affairs' commitments to exert additional pressure over Hungary's refusal to support Ukraine's accession to the EU.

In conclusion, Orbán states: “In Hungary we would call this behavior in many ways, but “friendly“ is certainly not one of them.“
