The Norwegian government said on Monday that Russia had violated its airspace three times, with it not yet clear whether the violations were intentional or not, Reuters reported, BTA reported.
The alleged incursions of Russian drones into Norwegian airspace occurred in April, July and August and were detected over the Barents Sea and over the uninhabited Finnmark region bordering Russia. The Norwegian government said the incidents, which lasted no more than four minutes, were the first of their kind in more than a decade.
Meanwhile, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said she saw a link between the incursion of Russian drones into Danish airspace and that of other EU member states, and that she was not ruling out any possibilities as to who the perpetrator might be.
Oslo Airport was also closed for three hours after a drone was spotted, leaving thousands of passengers stranded.
