The General Staff of the Ukrainian Army said that during the night, strikes were carried out on dispatching facilities of oil refining infrastructure in Russia. According to Kiev, a drone hit a pumping and compressor station on a main oil pipeline in the Bryansk region, which caused a fire, the BBC reports.
According to the same source, Ukrainian drones also damaged a dispatching station in the Samara region, where high- and low-sulfur raw materials are mixed to form the export grade Urals oil.
The General Staff also claims that forces of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) damaged two Russian military aircraft at the "Kacha" airport in annexed Crimea.
In recent months, Ukraine has significantly stepped up attacks on Russian oil infrastructure.
For its part, the Russian Defense Ministry reported in its morning briefing that Ukrainian drones had been shot down over the Bryansk and Samara regions, as well as over Crimea, but did not confirm any damage to ground targets. The information from both sides cannot be independently verified.
