Iran's intelligence services said they had obtained sensitive information from Israel, Iranian state television reported last night, DPA reported, BTA reported.
"Treasury of data" includes information about Israeli weapons projects, the nuclear power plant near the city of Dimona in Israel and lists of scientists involved in the programs, the statement said.
Iranian Intelligence Minister Seyed Esmail Khatib said: "The archive transferred to the country contains millions of pages of diverse and valuable information about the Zionist regime".
Khatib also said that Iranian intelligence services were also able to obtain information about Israel's nuclear program.
According to him, employees of the Israeli nuclear industry, the military, as well as ordinary citizens were involved in transferring the data to Iran. Some received money for this, while others acted out of hatred for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The details of the operation by Iranian intelligence services cannot be verified by independent sources, DPA notes. Since the Islamic Revolution in 1979, Israel has been considered Iran's greatest enemy, even though the majority of the Iranian population wants peace in the region.
