Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó has sharply criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, saying that he is "going crazy with anti-Hungarian sentiment" and even "having nightmares" related to Hungary. The comment was posted on Facebook, accompanied by a photo of a news story about Ukrainian spy drones discovered near the Ukrainian-Hungarian border.
"President Volodymyr Zelensky is going crazy with anti-Hungarian sentiment. "Now he is having nightmares," Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó wrote on Facebook.
To his post, he attached a screenshot of the Hungarian website Origo, which reported that Zelensky had announced the discovery of reconnaissance drones on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border.
Szijjártó had also written shortly before that that Ukraine had "been pursuing an anti-Hungarian policy for 10 years." He claimed that the rights of the Hungarian community in Transcarpathia were being violated and Hungarians were being beaten to death during mobilization.
Szijjártó also pointed to Ukrainian attacks on the Druzhba oil pipeline. in Russia, which supplies oil to Hungary and Slovakia, and the entry ban on three high-ranking Hungarian military officers as examples of "anti-Hungarian policy".
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Szybiga announced the ban earlier today. He said it was a response to Hungary's entry ban on three Ukrainian servicemen whom Budapest linked to the attacks on "Druzhba".
