The manager of the "Saint Mary" children's hospital in Iasi, where six children died after being infected with a bacteria, Dr. Catalina Ionescu said she would analyze whether she had done anything wrong, Digi24 reports, quoted by FOCUS.
Yesterday, Health Minister Alexandru Rogobete dismissed the leadership of the county's public health directorate and demanded Ionescu's replacement.
She said that the measures at the hospital were taken, but "maybe" that the institutions should have been notified earlier, News.ro reports.
Regarding the appearance of the Serratia Marcescens bacteria, Ionescu explained that it "can be found in ventilation, in sewage, in drinking water, in sterile solutions, in disinfectants".
Asked if she regretted anything, Ionescu replied: "I regret that these children died".
