Elon Musk said he turned down an invitation from convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein to visit his island.
“Anyone spreading this false narrative deserves contempt. Epstein tried to get me to go to his island, but I refused“, the billionaire wrote on his Facebook page. He responded to media reports that his name appeared in documents related to the Epstein case.
Musk has repeatedly called on the US government to release all materials related to the case.
Epstein was arrested by New York State law enforcement on July 6, 2019. Prosecutors said they had evidence that between 2002 and 2005 he arranged visits to his Manhattan home for dozens of underage girls, the youngest of whom was 14 years old.
Epstein's circle of friends and acquaintances included numerous current and former officials not only from the US but also from many other countries, including former government heads, prominent business leaders and showbiz celebrities.
The criminal prosecution of the financier in the US was discontinued after his suicide in his prison cell on August 10, 2019.
