Nearly 300,000 buildings in parts of Britain and Ireland were left without power as Storm Amy moved across the British Isles, Sky News reported, citing energy companies.
„Around 184,000 homes, farms and businesses across Ireland were left without power. In Northern Ireland, according to NIE Networks, 50,000 properties are without power... Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) said it was still working to restore power to 62,000 customers, the report said.
Citing local police, the channel also reported that the storm had led to the death of a man in the Irish town of Letterkenny, but details of the death were not provided.
