French President Emmanuel Macron said he will nominate a new prime minister within the next 48 hours, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA, citing a statement from the Elysee Palace.
Macron thanked the resigned Prime Minister Sebastien Le Corneille for his work over the past two days. The president acknowledged the conclusions of the resigned prime minister, that the majority of deputies are against the dissolution of parliament, that there is a platform for stability and that it is possible that the state budget will be adopted by the end of December, the Elysee Palace statement also said.
Earlier this evening, Lecornu suggested that Macron would nominate his successor to the post within 48 hours.
Lecornu was appointed prime minister on September 9 and resigned this Monday, just hours after announcing the composition of the new cabinet.
