Foreign ministers of the European Union countries are gathering today in Luxembourg to discuss the current situation in the Middle East and the conflict in Ukraine, DPA reports, BTA reports.
The meeting will also include Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga, who will brief his colleagues on the current state of play on the battlefield and Kiev's most pressing needs.
The consultations come just days after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with former US President Donald Trump, as well as the announced meeting between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Budapest.
Topics of discussion will include proposals to use Russian assets to finance reparations loans for Ukraine, as well as the 19th sanctions package against Russia, including a ban on imports of liquefied natural gas.
Today's meeting is the first of EU foreign ministers since the Gaza ceasefire came into effect.
The ministers are also expected to review the EU's relations with the Indo-Pacific region and discuss developments in Sudan, Moldova and Georgia.
