Russian air defenses have shot down a total of 30 drones flying towards Moscow, TASS reported, citing the city's mayor, Sergei Sobyanin.

Debris from the downed drones has fallen in places and emergency services are working there.

Due to the drone attack, two of the four airports in the Moscow region have been closed, namely Domodedovo Airport and Zhukovsky Airport, the Russian state aviation regulator "Rosaviatsia" reported, quoted by Reuters.

Ten people were injured in a Russian drone attack that hit a minibus near the city of Sumy, DPA reported, citing regional authorities.

Two of the injured are in critical condition. Two children are among the injured.

Meanwhile, a Ukrainian drone attack caused significant damage in the Russian-occupied Crimean peninsula, according to Ukrainian military intelligence. Three radar stations and one landing craft were hit.

Russian air defenses shot down at least six Ukrainian drones heading towards the Russian capital, Moscow, TASS reported.

The international airport in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, was closed again after several objects identified as possible helium balloons entered Lithuanian airspace, Reuters reported, citing the Lithuanian Crisis Management Center.

The checkpoints on Lithuania's border with Belarus were also closed.

This is the fourth such incident this week.

According to Lithuania, the balloons were sent by smugglers who illegally import cigarettes in this way. However, Lithuania also accuses Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, of doing nothing about the smuggling practice.

Vilnius Airport will remain closed until 23:40 GMT (1:40 a.m. Bulgarian time), while border crossings with Belarus will remain closed until a meeting of the country's National Security Commission, which will take place tomorrow.

Vilnius Airport was also closed on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, as well as on October 5, each time due to balloons entering the country's airspace, authorities said.
