Ukraine, whose energy infrastructure remains under constant attacks with drones and missiles from Russia, has significantly increased its electricity imports, according to consulting company ExPro, quoted by Reuters, reports News.bg.

In October, imports reached 360 megawatt hours, compared to 140 MWh in September and 264 MWh in August, the company's data shows.

Ukrainian authorities indicate that Russian attacks on energy facilities have intensified, causing power outages in a number of regions.

According to ExPro, most of the imported electricity comes from Hungary and Poland, as Kiev continues to expand its partnerships with European energy companies. operators.

Ukraine has the technical capacity to import up to 2,100 megawatts per hour of electricity from European Union countries at a time. However, the country is currently using between 30% and 50% of this capacity, said Vitaly Zaychenko, head of Ukraine's electricity transmission operator.

“There is a potential for imports, and it is significant”, Zaychenko said, stressing that international energy support remains vital for the stability of Ukraine's grid.
