Romania's Energy Minister has called on the state to take control of Lukoil's local branch, BNR reported.
This will ensure the stability of the national energy system and jobs related to the company's business, after international sanctions against it come into force, explained Minister Bogdan-Gruia Ivan.
"Lukoil" owns a refinery in Ploiesti - the third largest in Romania, a chain of 320 gas stations, as well as exploration rights to a section of the Black Sea.
The minister did not specify which of these assets Bucharest plans to take under control, nor how it intends to do so.
